A friend introduced me to Bowenwork as a result of an injury I sustained years ago in a serious car accident. Bowenwork was able to help me regain my quality of life in a way nothing else had, and I have been passionate about it ever since. Years later, I began practicing Bowenwork myself and find it truly rewarding to be able to help people with this remarkable method of bodywork.
Certified Bowenwork Practitioner
Bowenwork is a gentle, non-invasive method of bodywork that is suitable for anyone, regardless of their age or health status. Working over soft tissue, it sends messages to the body to rebalance, realign, and restore itself. The purpose is to activate the innate self-healing mechanisms within the body.
Bowenwork is gentle on the body, effective, and appropriated for anyone to receive. Because of its effect on the nervous system, Bowenwork is unique in its ability to help improve musculoskeletal, respiratory, digestive, and reproductive conditions - in addition to helping relieve stress and alleviating the symptoms of autoimmune disorders. For more information, feel free to check out the American Bowenwork Academy website at http://www.AmericanBowen.Academy
Bowenwork initiates a series of responses through stimulation of the nervous, musculoskeletal, and fascial systems and the energetic pathways. Practitioners perform a sequence of small movements on specific points on the body interspersed with rest periods. The body's response to this stimulation, which begins during the rest periods, includes a balancing of the autonomic nervous system and changes in the musculoskeletal system in the direction of increased symmetry.
Nervous system regulation is the key to regulating your overall health and well-being. When our nervous system is dysregulated, we can experience a variety of symptoms including chronic pain, fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, and so on. When our nervous system is regulated, we feel calmer, we can rest better, and we become more able to cope with stressors.
By taking steps to heal our nervous system, we can dramatically change our health, increase our lifespan, and improve our quality of life. It is also how we can build better relationships and bring more of our unique talents into the world. Regulating our nervous system means creating happier and healthier versions of ourselves.
A typical Bowenwork session lasts about 90 minutes, although some visits may be shorter or longer based on which procedures are done. Fees are by session, not by time. After the initial session where overall balance and realignment is initiated, there are usually one or more follow-up sessions to address specific issues. Long-standing or chronic conditions may require further sessions or regular appointments.
All work is done while the client is fully clothed, so please wear light, loose clothing to your Bowenwork session. In order for the Bowenwork to have its full effect, it is highly recommended that you plan to rest as much as possible after a session. Drink lots of water and engage in gentle activity such as taking a mild walk. Avoid heating pads, ice packs, or hot tubs for at least 48 hours after receiving Bowenwork. You should also avoid any other kind of bodywork (massage, chiropractic, etc.) for at least 4 days before and after a Bowenwork appointment.
Our time is valuable and we request that you give at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Otherwise you will be charged for a regular session. Additionally, if you are more than 15 minutes late for a session, your session will be cancelled however you will still be charged.
"In 2021, I came to see Tracy for frequent, sever headaches. After 3 sessions, my headaches were gone and have not returned. I recently experienced extreme lower back pain and pelvic misalignment. I experienced immediate relief after my session. The gentle, calm sessions are fantastic." -J.B.
"Tracy started working on me for bursitis in my hip. Then I found out that she could work on my scoliosis in my back. I felt a change immediately, and sometimes after a session I have to adjust the rear view mirror in my car because I am sitting up straighter! My husband even noticed a difference." - G.H.
"I was experiencing continual hip pain and thought I would need to give up running - a sport I truly enjoy. Tracy helped me find relief and gave me hope to continue pain-free running again. Her knowledge and skill in Bowenwork are a blessing that I am thankful for." - M.S.
